The Facilities Division of the Public Works Department maintains
and repairs all county-owned buildings, infrastructure and grounds by
utilizing efficient, cost-effective practices to provide an operationally
efficient, safe and comfortable environment for employees and the general
public.
The Facilities Division is
responsible for maintenance and repair of over 1,000,000 square feet of
building space.
Facilities and Highway crews also maintain 148 acres of green space.
Our multi-talented crew performs
diverse tasks, which include electrical, chemical and HVAC engineering,
finish carpentry, painting, groundskeeping, snow removal, furniture
moving/office reorganizations, small building projects and janitorial
services. The Facilities
Division responds to maintenance and emergency calls 24 hours a day, 7 days
a week.
Facilities Division management is also responsible for monitoring multiple
outside contracts
including, but not limited to: utility, architectural and
construction projects, fire protection, pest control, major equipment
maintenance and the countywide cleaning services contract.

If you wish to use a county-owned facility or green space for a private
function, the attached
Application for Use of County Owned Facility must be
completed and submitted to our department. The requests are subject
to the approval of the Deputy County Administrator-Central Services.
